reality-based forms: circular navigation, capturing ambiences of textural spaces, inspired by kankyou ongaku, science fiction and video game music. looping, iteration and repetition within the same patch on my eurorack modular system. each track's recording session starts with a different sample, sculpted by manual control, with a 16n faderbank controller taking the main stage in navigating how each recording progresses. a set of 16 controls mapped to different components of this patch, together with the parameters and sample chosen for each take/recording, each of the tracks defined by the evolution in time of the 16-point curve described by position of these faders. post-processing kept relatively light, mainly mastering, some volume/filter automation, and layering in recent field recordings made during the time period of recording.
Demo Sessions Vol 1 is the first in a three-part compilation of instrumental demo reworks by The Cavemen. These tracks were originally written and sketched by Elias Troche during the 1990s and later revisited, re-recorded, and remixed at Joshua Moore’s home studio, The Cave. They are not final studio versions, but raw reinterpretations and reconstructed demos that will eventually evolve into songs for upcoming projects and releases. Each piece balances the nostalgic roots of the 90s with the contemporary textures of The Cavemen’s sound. The complete collection will span three volumes and a total of 30 demo tracks, offering a glimpse into the vast archive of over 250 songs by Elias Troche, Joshua Moore, and Ronald Gamarra. Demo Sessions is not a debut, but an open window into the creative process of The Cavemen, and a promise of the music yet to come. credits released September 1, 2025 for David license all rights reserved
I think it is really limiting to consider vaporwave as an aesthetic art solely confined to the 80's nostalgia and Asian cultural references. Vaporwave music should transcend the formulaic clichés of its subgenres. Imposing strict boundaries is just the result of a sterile mainstream thought that I really hate. The perception of a music genre is subjective and varies from listener to listener. For instance, it is pretty evident that the emotion evoked by listening to Nirvana in 1993 is completely different from today's one. Everything ties to the imaginary that a work triggers when it is savored. This perception can be driven by several factors of a person, like the mood, the age, the mentality and the culture. The possibilities of contamination, innovation and diversification are unlimited. This infinity leads the evolution of all music, vaporwave included.
aerenchyma (channels of air-filled cavities in plants) this collection features looping splashes of modular synthesiser recordings joined by environmental ambiences and field recordings. the tracks are all reworked and remastered from original disquiet junto submissions recorded between april 2023 and april 2024, some with added material, some reduced to bring out individual elements.

A sonic elegy for the quiet that follows departure, “In Darkness Reborn” traces the emotional contours of empty nest syndrome with haunting clarity. Richard Wilson’s vocal work and Vanessa Funke’s aching harmonies wrap around Marc Anderson Williams’ signature signal architecture, creating a ritual of release and renewal.
