The original release of Forgive Yourself was dedicated to Pete and Esther, who were my grandparents, and subjects of the grief that drove the creation of the record. They brought our family here in the 1960s and created opportunities we never would have otherwise had. As someone who eventually headed West myself, I always identified with that willingness to chase dreams beyond our comfort zones. The shopping cart always represented my grandmother, in particular, who showed me that wanting something right now and wanting something right were two very different things. What I never could have predicted was how this nearly wordless summary of my own mortality crisis and fears would resonate with so many other people. I am humbled and honored. Thank you for listening. AC#051
