Founded and run by composer and improviser EMERGE aka Sascha Stadlmeier, the label is based in the South of Germany. While many releases on attenuation circuit could be categorised as drone, electronica, electroacoustic improvisation, musique concrète, or noise, the label's definition of “experimental” may also include unorthodox takes on certain pop idioms. attenuation circuit not only releases albums by individual artists but aims at fostering networking and collaboration through split releases and ongoing compilation series.
