New Nebula

New Nebula

Two interstellar navigators. Two singular sonic cartographers plotting the contours of a nebula that did not exist until this very encounter. On New Nebula, VEILED and TrailOfGhosts weave six immersive transmissions into a breathtaking work of modern avant-garde space ambient, where every movement seems to inhale a little more of the surrounding cosmos until sound itself becomes a slowly expanding celestial phenomenon. It begins with the sublime "Dark Star," whose vast celestial calm offers a fleeting illusion of orientation. The stars still possess names. Distance still obeys reason. But with each successive movement, the coordinates begin to fail. The music drifts farther into regions where plasma becomes memory, where interstellar dust carries forgotten languages, and where silence itself acquires mass. Faint currents of noise occasionally ripple through the nebula... not as intrusion, but as texture. They breathe beneath the surface of the drones like cosmic background radiation, barely perceptible yet quietly indispensable, lending the surrounding vastness an almost tactile depth without ever disturbing its graceful suspension. By the album's final third, something quietly irreversible has taken hold. The return trajectory has vanished. Visual, material, and sonic logic unravel into a magnificent state of cosmic derangement. Noble gases shimmer through invisible currents. Drone horizons bend upon themselves. Tape parasites bloom like strange constellations, patiently awaiting reception by malfunctioning antennae abandoned on worlds that no longer remember their own skies. What began as quiet wonder slowly settles into something heavier—an acceptance that feels almost sacred. Not despair. Recognition. The realization that the universe itself may be nothing more than an immeasurably vast haunted house, drifting endlessly through an indifferent sea of black. -Sir Kuliktavikt
