The Great Circle

For the best listening experience, we recommend playing The Great Circle as loud as possible, on the biggest speakers you have. Two years in the making, this is the most polished and high-effort (but not the most complex) The Eternal Returns release. It takes the layered sound of Shining, Fading, Burning, Flickering and evolves it in a more doom metal-influenced direction. Additionally, many elements from later The Eternal Returns releases are also present on The Great Circle: the use of field recordings from the Nightmare series, the drone and noise influences from Before the Circle Was Drawn, the black metal apsects of From Lands Where Flames Forever Burn. Recorded during a live performance in Turnus na Wolskiej on December 9 2023. The first set (Live Embodiment of The Eternal Returns) is based mostly on songs from Century of False Dawn and Shining, Fading, Burning, Flickering, but it includes tracks from earlier releases as well. It is considered a part of the CoFD/SFBF story, taking place at the same time as CoFD. The second set (Nightmare Arrangements) is based on Nightmare Archetypes and yet unreleased tracks meant for future releases in the Nightmare Archetypes series.
