First Letter, In This World began as an exchange of letters made of music. Mirai No Hagaki and Lisa Nanzaki sent each other musical ideas and lyrics, each in their own language, with no translation. The other’s words arrived as pure sound, and it was the sound they answered. When Lisa sent an idea with Japanese lyrics, Mirai added a reply in Italian, without knowing what she was saying. A message that might have seemed incomprehensible became a conversation. Only when a track was finished did they explain their words to each other. And each time they found the same thing: two people who have never met, writing in two different languages, had ended up talking about the same subject. Surprising, or perhaps not. That is the magic of music and of the sound of words.

Wyrm is the second stanza of the Orygins arc begun by Genesys. Its seven tracks encompass a hivemind's growth across the electromagnetic spectrum in which all light and sound resides, the wyrm-program expanding to meet the needs of the expanding wyrm-program until it becomes far greater than it could have ever foreseen. With nigh unstoppable force it spreads throughout the multiiverse and exfiltrates whatever data it needs to feast on. The hydra hath ryzen. The hydra is hungry. The hydra is merciless.
To listen to this album is to gradually lose oneself, track after track, along some strange and unfamiliar path, slowly slipping out of contact with the very fabric of space and time, allowing the surrounding landscape to deliciously seep into and contaminate one's very being... Only to find oneself, at the stroke of midnight, utterly disoriented, lost somewhere between dead trees and a carpet of Basidiolichen, between the blackened earth and a sky teeming with unholy stars... left wondering where one is, WHO one is, and, above all, what manner of thing is stirring in the distance... The sound of our undoing in the void. -Sir Kuliktavikt
After several EP releases on ECHØVEIL, what an immense pleasure it is to welcome back experimental sound artist Michael Baum for a full-length album! Across five hazy, drifting and stripped-down tracks, Baum distills his very own drone-nebula against a minimalist canvas of hypnagogic echoes. This is music that invites introspection and surrender to its slow, contemplative drift... And yet, there is always that deliciously ambivalent quality to Baum's work; contrasting emotional hues that plunge the listener into a peculiar state of mind where languor, melancholy, enchantment and bewitchment intertwine... A cornerstone artist of ECHØVEIL, Baum continues to pursue his own singular path, delving ever deeper into the exploration of strange and elusive sonic waves, somewhere between shadow and light, the minuscule and the monumental, emotion and rigor... -Sir Kuliktavikt

SLICE001. Where it started. Metaphoenix came out on Halloween 2014: eleven tracks from the Melbourne underground that built the early Slice nights. The eleven tracks move between ambient, experimental, industrial, techno and psytrance, from Shifty Gypsies’ opener “Assault On Prism 13” to Tøn’s closer “Japa”. Along the way are Sikander, Input / Output, The ScullaMooks, Aerobiotic, Stepping Inwards, Rhythmik, Arcane Trickster, Okeer and Ear Mind Eye.
The first single from an upcoming body of work, Dreamlike explores a nostalgic and hopeful space in a world of dark and dystopian torrents. The official visualizer for this track, released on YouTube, was also created by vector dust as a first foray into motion graphics.
You didn't actually think we would celebrate ECHØVEIL's very first anniversary without an exclusive, freshly conjured offering from my ever-faithful and immensely talented accomplice Substak, did you? Perish the thought, ladies and gentlemen! "Particulate Flow" is Substak at his most granular and abstract. The Greek sound artist in his most primordial incarnation. An insoluble matrix of resonances; a plunge into the interstellar void, sublimated by sensory modulations that will deliciously set every one of your senses adrift. Minimalist oscillations, with an underlying swamp-like drone, a kind of foundational stratum bearing the weight of these sonic effusions. The sort of extended piece that bridges worlds; that beckons towards ecstasy. But a strange, ambivalent form of ecstasy, suspended somewhere between utter surrender and incomprehension.... A place where one loses oneself, never quite to return unscathed. Beautiful. Essential. -Sir Kuliktavikt
