Nameless

I used to see red and blue flames rising from nearby chemical factory chimneys at night. "In the 1990s, I was deeply inspired by the rising wave of electronic music culture, including warehouse raves that we also organized ourselves. There are also traces of ancient Finnish beliefs and mythology, as well as the presence of the Arctic winter—long, cold, and silent." These (previously unreleased) tracks were created between approximately 1997 and 1999 using FastTracker 2. Happomeri means 'Acid Sea' in Finnish. The music I create now under the name Happomeri is mainly experimental ambient, dark ambient, and drone. My influences come from a mixture of environments and experiences: the dark Finnish coniferous forests, the concrete suburb where I grew up, and the underlying tension of nuclear war fears during childhood. . Late one October night, a freak accident occurred in Tony’s lab. One slip, a nasty fall, and violent mutation or two later, the man known as Tony G was no more. In a chemical haze of Jack, ACID TONY was born! Sorry Records is happy to announce the release of Bushwick based producer Tony G’s ACID TONY EP, a frenzy-inducing collection of cuts for the spookiest of dance floors. Mastered with love by M. Vaughan (Super Tuff Records), the EP kicks off with “Tony’s Acid” on the A side, eleven and a half minutes of club fury built around Mr. Oizo reminiscent synths and a warped sample of label mates and Miami Bass queens Basside. Fresh off his inclusion on Haus Of Altr's massive mission statement HOA010 compilation, Escaflowne makes a proper introduction with The Stimulus Pack EP - five tracks of souped-up house music filled with addictive grooves, gritty acid, soaring diva vocals, and divine rave stabs. Detroit mastermind Huey Mnemonic provides the cherry on top of the whole thing with his full-tilt breakbeat driven "Midnight Maurader Mix" of the Let No Man Put Asunder sampling "Beybah." Originally hailing from Flint, Michigan, Huey Mnemonic a.k.a. PJ Swerve has made his greatness known through his 2019 Vanity Press 12", a bootlegs split with DJ Swisha for Vanity Press imprint Hot 'N' Ready, and the launch of his new Subsonic Ebonics label this month with his Virtuosity EP featuring MoMa Ready. Nikki is an Atlanta-via-Tennessee producer and DJ who has been a consistent benevolent force for the American underground for years and his raw power has been evident via records for Scuffed Recordings, Banoffee Pies, Lobster Theremin, Dirtybird, and TRAM Planet. Nikki’s the first out-of-town DJ we’ve ever been lucky enough to bring to NYC for a party, destroying Bossa Nova Civic Club last summer for our Bossa Radio collaboration with Worst Behavior. The Acid Sea

Harking back to the style of the early and mid-90s electronic experimentation, with minimal shuffling rhythms, slow building chord layers and deep acid twiddlings and spirals that send minds spinning. Happomeri (meaning 'acid sea' in Finnish) manages to collate together influence from a variety of electronic eras into one coherent atmospheric mass, hurling Hardfloor, Aphex Twin, Autechre, Plastikman, µ-Ziq, Biosphere and others around that time into my mind. 'Drone/experimental/dark ambient/noise' "In the 1990s, I composed a significant amount of music before transitioning to visual arts, including experimental short films and music videos. Now, returning to music, I embrace an analog, organic, and lo-fi aesthetic. My exploration into drone music stems from a fascination with the flow of sound and how gradual changes can evoke profound emotional experiences.To me, drone is akin to a river that transforms with the seasons: energetic in spring, tranquil in summer, melancholic in autumn, and still yet vibrant beneath the surface in winter. This analogy illustrates how drone sounds can encompass numerous layers and dynamics, even when surface activity seems minimal. I also submerge into experimental beats and energies from the old warehouse raves that we organized in the 90s here in the periferia of northern Finland's taiga.
