Done using Elektron Digitakt, Digitone and Syntakt machines, Korg Minilogue, Arturia MicroFreak and an Echobrain Analog Delay. Phrasemongering - Too much blah blah out there! My head is bursting, unrestrained outpourings of linguistic manure are pouring out of the news feeds - 24-7-365! The phrasemongering („Phrasemongering“) of self-appointed or elected citizens collides with the aberrations ("Error") of cross-thought misconceptions. "Deny, Deflect, Lie, Cheat" is the mantra of our time, as long as we don't think of the world with a soft focus ("The Mind Sings Soft Tones"). It thaws violently where it shouldn't ("After The Thaw") and after the driving rain ("Driving Rain") we practise humility for a moment and then quickly go on as usual without braking. Coming out also in a beautiful limited digipak CD edition, this release is a spectacular first solo endeavour for him on Mahorka, after the collaboration album of Autonomaton + Pandacetamol, two albums of Cognition Delay (the group of him and Jeremy Rice / Abdicant), plus some outstanding remixes and compilation appearances. Positively addicted to his hardware music machines, the 12 tracks on "Below The Surface" have analogue warmth, cut through by glassy FM tones and intricate percussion. The overall effect is dizzying and immersive. Look below the surface and find a deep ocean of sound.
