For more than a decade, Jesse has cultivated both a record label, Æther Sound, & Envelop, Minneapolis’ beloved deep listening series, creating rare spaces for listeners to experience adventurous music with intention. Following Envelop’s final showcase in 2025, its influence continues to resonate through the artists and community it helped foster. Æther Sound continues to explore new territories. Raised in the sticky suburbs of Tampa Bay, Stick Figure’s monolith moment came to the tune of Hybrid’s “Finished Symphony” from the OST to 2001’s finest cyberpunk surfboard Gamecube game SSX Tricky. One kick and the kid's dreamed of breakbeats ever since. Fifteen odd years later, Stick Figure presents his debut EP FIGUR01; the first in a series of incoming bass bundles from Sorry Records and the Stick himself. The first installment is centered upon the berserk Lightcycle race of “Again,” a proper club tune amorphous and dank as can be, “Again" is paired violently with gold star remixes from Sorry Records Secret Weapon Drummy (Kindergarten Records, Juke Bounce Werk), the friendliest Techno producer in Rochester Tony G, and New Jersey Third Wave dark web scenesters Lanlord Lance, whose “Again Again” renders the original’s club menace into bedroom melancholy with a dueling vocal weirdo pop takeover. Introducing SORRY TRAX VOL 1 💥 …an all purpose dance floor demolition kit fully loaded with all the rave missiles, DJ tools, and bootleg fireworks you need to move those butts at a moment’s notice! Featuring Drummy, Tony G, Stick Figure, Cranklin, and Malik Hendricks, SORRY TRAX VOL 1 is the label’s first ever V/A release and the inaugural installment in a new series of club-oriented trackpacks from Sorry Records. Multi-genre wunderkind DRUMMy kicks it off hot with ”BLEEDIN.” Built upon a pitch shifted vocal sample, DRUMMy combines irresistibly punchy percussion with some legitimately beautiful strings for a warped uptempo helium soul club KO. Enter the playful rave menace of Stick Figure's "DUAL CITIZEN;” an all hands on deck old skool inspired cut overflowing with buoyant energy and sinister glee. Tony G's massive "STAY TOGETHER" finds the Rochester born producer taking a hard left turn in the aftermath of the dark laboratory acid of his 2018 ACID TONY EP, setting off on a breakneck wave runner race through an Italo House riviera with the pedal to the floor. Fresh off the release of his fantastic Black Chakra EP on Money Cat Records, the great Malik Hendricks exhumes the funk from an early 2000s Justin Timberlake album cut with prodigious precision for the impossibly smooth "NOTHIN ELSE EDIT.” Originally produced by The Neptunes, Malik’s expertly executed disco edit goes down so easy we don't even care about the inevitable copyright lawsuit coming our way. Closing out volume one is a beautiful cut from wildly prolific New Jersey dark web scenester Cranklin who builds upon the sound collage vocal house explorations of last year’s City Slicker with his new offering "RANDOM SONG.” A unique distillation of warped harmonica, found footage dialogue, and chicken scratch guitar loops, “RANDOM SONG” makes for a brisk dance cut reminiscent to DJ Koze if he was raised on first generation YouTube clips and Paul Hardcastle.
