Skogsfolk – Kometnatten is a journey through the night sky, where an approaching comet becomes the starting point for reflecting on humanity’s fear and fascination with the cosmos. The album tells the story of a cold night illuminated by stars, when the vastness of the universe becomes tangible. Each track – from “Melodi til skumringen” to “Melon pulsarer og kvasarer” – forms a narrative in which observing the sky, the approaching comet, and the mysteries of space intertwine with universal human emotions: awe, unease, and contemplation of impermanence. Kometnatten is a meditation on what has always fascinated and terrified humanity – the immensity of space, the glow of the stars, and the mystery of approaching celestial bodies.
