Baby Vortex is my debut solo EP: four tracks of deep, weighty dubstep, previewed by DJ Mag in July and released October 3. Jazz-inflected drums give way to grimy switch-ups, while pre-colonial Filipino announcement drum traditions and chopped vocals sit alongside a Sun Ra sample. Coltrane's metaphysical philosophy runs underneath. I mastered "Spiritual Language" and "Don't Ask When" myself. "Mumbles" and "Like Dem" were mastered by Jack Haigh of Grey Mastering, one of the most respected engineers in the low-end sphere. TRACKS 1. Mumbles 2. Like Dem 3. Don't Ask When 4. Spiritual Language ABOUT ME I'm Ezzrei, a DJ, producer, and cultural researcher from Manila, and Siargao's first female DJ. I founded Continuum Bass and curate the compilations Dub Dystopia Vol. 1 and Gunitâ (coming soon). Hear more of my tracks and mixes on my Bandcamp and SoundCloud, and thank you for supporting the music.
A Classic Deep Dubstep EP. A sequel and companion to my last EP "Darkness & Death".
