based on an experience I had on my birthday vacation where I found an abandoned playground sitting on the beach during one of my nightly walks.
the 4th chapter of the OST series. dreamcore. the poolrooms. weirdcore. and the backrooms. all pulled this sense of nostalgia and connection i've been missing for a long time. dreamy nostalgia and tongue-in-cheek eerie pairs well and connects all the themes in a satisfying way. it always made me feel at home in some weird way, which inspired this series. and yet here we end with dreamcore. another fun internet created aesthetic that pulls from such a vulnerable and innocent place. this album has aimed to capture that feeling in somewhat of a love letter to the better times and nostalgia. when everything seemed simple, new and fantastical. you can always return to the past but no one will be there.
Created from old synths and some simple digital patches. Warped and modulated using some experimental methods to capture a cohesive sound throughout the album. Simple melodies and lullabies that bring you back in time.
10 track album ...sometimes you find yourself longing for the life you never lived. a world that you never got to experience. all thats left are the fragments of those worlds being saved in your mind for you to crave, reaching for those memories that are simply too far for you to grab. you can only imagine. and as it gets farther way you only need it more, as the need becomes unbearable. even a fragment becomes satisfying. this is my first album. thank you for listening. may the mall’s rest be eternal.
