A collection of drifting signals, distant places and fragmented stories. Recorded in a single session, the twelve pieces on Sounds from Far Places and other Stories explore different shades of dark ambient, cinematic electronics and slowly evolving drone textures. While all tracks emerge from the same sonic world, each one follows its own atmosphere and direction — sometimes unsettling, sometimes reflective, occasionally moving into deeper cosmic territory. Layers of analog drones, decaying echoes, shifting harmonics and processed textures create environments that feel half-remembered, unstable and far away. Some pieces remain sparse and meditative, while others introduce uneasy motion, strange tonal colors and subtle hints of horror. Rather than focusing on traditional song structures, the album presents a sequence of short narrative fragments — isolated moments, transmissions and imagined locations connected by a common atmosphere of distance and mystery. Mostly dark, sometimes spacey, often eerie.
12 track album This album I wrote a few years ago with the original idea being a soundtrack for a fictional dystopian movie or character. After it was finished I became aware that it is really about the start of an awakening process. Speaking of beautiful moment, Hope of the Traveller is certainly the most beautiful one of this musical dystopia masterfully created by DASK.
