This album was born from a single moment: a recording of the wind during a powerful weather event in Melbourne, captured by Dr. Duane Hamacher. That sound, raw and unpredictable, became the sole source material for the entire project. Using a granular synthesizer, I explored its textures and tones, uncovering layers of movement and resonance hidden within. The result is a single composition in the realm of ambient soundscapes and sound art. It reflects the interplay of chaos and calm, shaped by the energy of natural forces. By limiting myself to this single sound source, I aimed to explore the subtle and transformative qualities of the wind, translating its textures and movements into something both intimate and expansive. This piece is an invitation to listen more closely and find music within the unseen currents around us.

Earth Speaks is an eco-acoustic field recording project by Minneapolis-based artist and composer Matthew Hiram. Rooted in the philosophy of "sonic conservation," the project uses deep-listening practices and environmental audio to cultivate mindfulness, and to bridge the gap between humanity and nature, preserving the acoustic identity of threatened ecosystems. 'At Gold Beach' is an immersive 42-minute unedited field recording captured along the Pacific shoreline of Gold Beach, Oregon. Walks & Wanders Vol. 01 – New Forest features three long-form drone pieces inspired by childhood walks through the New Forest. Using gentle repetition, subtle shifts, and field recordings, the tracks unfold slowly, inviting reflection rather than demanding attention. Recorded to chrome cassette on a refurbished Kenwood KX-5010, the music has a warm, tape-like softness that complements its unhurried mood. Created during 2024 and 2025, this first volume explores how familiar landscapes linger with us, not as clear memories, but as fragments of atmosphere, texture, and feeling that quietly surface over time.

We first started doing our heavily themed compilations all the way back in 2000. Eventually when we started doing a dozen releases a year & I started touring a few times a year they fell by the way side. Then in 2019 when Droneuary took off as far as being a way to have an excuse to get in touch with friends, the themed compilations started back up. I reach out to the Silber regulars with a weird idea I have been thinking about pursuing & see if anyone else wants to take part. We have done three compilations of field recordings & in this fourth installment we limited it a little further saying all recordings were to be in the home. The results vary from ambient to dance to industrial. Always listen & hear the world in a new way.

Originally released on the con-v label (Madrid) in 2004, "Okraina" was constructed from field recordings made in December 2003 while on tour in Russia and Ukraine. Gas heated kitchen pipes, men sleeping in a train compartment, passing trains, light bulbs, soviet refrigerators, train toilets are the sources. The sounds where minimally mixed and processed, and the stranger sounds are more a result of strategic microphone placement and the lofi microcassette recorder than software processing.

A single piece. Twenty-five minutes. Yet it contains an entire world. A world of mist, quiet wanderings, and half-remembered places that seem to exist only at the edge of sleep. Sound_00 and Lefterna invite us into an immersive twilight where field recordings, drifting drones, sparse piano notes, spectral winds, and slowly shifting sonic marshlands dissolve into one another with remarkable grace. There is something profoundly cinematic about this journey. It recalls the abandoned streets of Silent Hill, yet without the menace. Ghostly, certainly—but strangely comforting. A place where unseen presences seem content simply to coexist with the listener. Here and there, a diffuse light quietly pierces the fog, illuminating suspended landscapes of fragile emotion before disappearing once more into the haze. An inward work. A patient work. A concept album about a dream I had that rendered me emotionally exhausted, and trying to stop dreaming about a place that once kept me safe. I've been trying for so long to turn this idea into music and I really enjoyed working on this, I hope some people enjoy it too :) A lot of things to process with this album, and I don't think I have it all figured out yet.

A 12-track soundtrack for a cinepoem, assembled the way Hockney built his photographic joiners: fragment by fragment, seams left showing. It begins with a hundred eyes, one moment, never the whole picture – the lens turns inwards: zooming until the face becomes grain, the grain becomes star, the star connects the dark.
