Across all the songs there is a distinct blend of acoustic soul and neopsych, anchored by warm, rhythmic grooves, and highlighted by an expressive tambourine.

A dose of hopecore to light your way when the world feels crushing and dark: Zora Kirin’s debut EP releases four songs on her 40th birthday. The Bones Are Beautiful spans nearly two decades of writing, from the restless hopefulness of "Fly On", written before Zora turned 25, to the hard-won clarity of "Step Forth", written in her late thirties. That they find each other here, on a single record, is itself the EP’s central argument: that hope is not naïve, and that joy is something you return to, again and again, across a whole life. The album starts in the spring of life with Fly On in awe of the world and its bursting colours. Summer dawns with Let's Play Pretend as a newly adult body discovers love. Step Forth comes in autumn with encouragement to taste all of life before it’s gone. And finally, winter falls with Mulberry Tree, a love song from the grave encouraging the living to make the most of their own seasons. Rooted in acoustic folk and shaped by years of storytelling, The Bones Are Beautiful is an indie folk record about the long work of becoming. It does not promise the world will stop being hard.
