Roots Beneath the Mist is an extended exploration of forgotten sound, built from archival recordings captured between 1980 and 1990 and revived through layers of analog transformation. These early fragments—once stored on aging reels and worn cassettes—have been unearthed, restored, and reshaped using a wide range of electronic processes, tape manipulations, and subtle re-amplification techniques. What emerges is a collection of ambient pieces that feel suspended between eras: the warmth of magnetic tape, the soft erosion of time, and the quiet pulse of machines long past their prime. Hiss becomes a landscape, flutter becomes movement, and every imperfection becomes part of the narrative. Roots Beneath the Mist drifts through fog‑laden harmonics, submerged drones, and textures that seem to breathe with their own fragile life. It is an album about memory as a physical medium—how sound decays, how it persists, and how it returns transformed. These recordings are not simply restored; they are reimagined, carrying the weight of decades while opening new spaces of stillness and introspection.
