A sonic journey down some dark paths - each track lingering in isolation & bordering on abandonment. Walls of drone & lingering feedback, decaying guitar riffs, overdriven bass progressions, distorted drum machines, broken melodies. Part post rock, part post-apocalyptic ambient, where shoegaze & drone collide like a car hit by a train. Enjoy.

When we released the debut ate album MCCV two years ago, we were sure Petar Petkov would be back on Amek sooner or later. His chamber drone music has drawn from the wells of both classical composition and modern-day guitar-based ambient and shoegaze. “Secondary Drowning” is melancholic and drifting, but far from being as fragile as ate’s earlier works. This is due not only to the tighter writing Petkov’s showing in his second album, but to a thicker and more massive production. This was handled by Studio148’s very own Marius Costache, who’s no stranger to both heavy and atmospheric experimental sound.
mwvm returns with a new transmission from the quiet edge of sound. This album drifts between memory & atmosphere — slow pulses, submerged melodies, & textures that feel more like places than songs. It’s music for late hours, long distances, & the spaces in between thoughts. Headphones recommended. Let it blur the boundaries.

Déjà vu wrapped in melody: the same horizon, slightly rearranged each night.
