We couldn’t possibly celebrate ECHØVEIL’s first anniversary without my dear friend and compatriot Phibes Praetorius and his utterly singular brand of deranged musical madness, his surrealistically haunted collages, his psychedelic rococo-bizarro plunderphonics punctuated by nocturnal post-ambient hexes, outlandish post-sonic digressions... Mondo Bizarro is yet another fine vintage from the mysterious and zany vineyards of Ontario. Syncopated cannibal dances for head-shrinkers. Brass bands of dead flesh parading atop incandescent floats. A treacherous cha-cha served over a tartare of human cheek. Sonic confetti of every conceivable colour raining down from the heavens. Big Band jazz for liquefied zombies, their performance captured as though in some “film noir on acid and turpentine.” There is only ONE Phibes Praetorius. Visionary Lines Presents - The House Tapes Volume 1 - The Soundtrack to a Lost Horror Film In the mid to late 1970s, work was nearing completion on a low budget horror film titled The House. Due to financial problems, the film was never completed and thus, fell into obscurity. The soundtrack written to accompany it was also almost finished, but this too disappeared when the film was shelved. Visionary Lines has recently come into possession of the original master tapes for the soundtrack. Alas they are in poor condition, work is taking place to restore as much as possible, so that this work may be heard for the first time, 50 years after its creation. The House Tapes Volume 1 contains the first set of tracks which have been retrieved and restored.

The tenth collection of tracks recovered from the archives of the British Experimental Rocket Group (BERG). Many of the recordings in the BERG archives appear to be experiments with electronic sounds and putting instruments through their paces. Over the course of the compilations we have included some of the more structured and 'musical' tracks and this collection is no exception. It seems to be slightly more 'experimental' in tone.

RANDEL .the ghost. returns to continue the "haunted" series - an homage to the Caretaker releases. I had to create some haunted ballroom music myself. haunted1 takes themes from insanity and drunkenness' - the complete unraveling and deterioration of the heart and soul. Through world pain, addiction and eventually madness, hauntings are much more real than we think ~
