"'Tis a fearful thing" is an experimental album about thanatophobia, a musical expression of anxiety derived from the fear of losing our loved ones. It combines unconventional soundscapes and classical instrumentation in a sonic collage that conjures a melting-pot of musique-concréte and improvisational music.

The lyrics for “A Blood-Red Rose of 49 Petals” were written by Jack Whiteside Parsons, but the poem is represented here in a (fittingly) incomplete form due to the fact that my notebook containing it caught fire during the recording session.
