Increasing Dependence on QR Codes
When creating this chaotic and slightly noisy track, I aimed for a "fullness of sound" in the composition. In a way, I was inspired by the song "Threshold" by Sex-Bob-Omb, particularly its energy and "battle-ready" vibe. At the same time, I love the aesthetics of QR codes and pictograms in general. That’s why I chose an album design that’s unique (among my other covers) in its simple style of pictograms, QR codes, and these codes in general.
At the same time, however, it’s important to note that several sounds and melodies in the track are created from the notes in QR codes. I composed the notes exactly as the black squares are arranged on the QR code, and this created the melodies of the so-called "QR Piano," "QR Metal," and "QR Build Up." Yes, the build-up to the track—that so-called gradually disintegrating sound—is actually a QR code speaking about its content: “The piano notes in this song are composed of the black squares of the QR code, which displays this text”! The text and the song title are also incorporated into the code on the album cover. I also tried to create something in the style of action drum & bass or noise, like from the game ULTRAKILL.
As I’ve said before, I admire QR codes. I appreciate that Japanese engineer Masahiro Hara developed this type of code in 1994. I even collect physical QR codes; I have a drawer at home full of clippings of various codes (Aztec, QR code, Barcode, Data Matrix, etc.).
I’d also like to point out something very important! This track is also officially part of an album released on the official Favu Label profile under the name TE.A (Technologie Audio)—the same cover was used for this album.
