Immerse yourself in the dark side of the moon and the echoes of falling stars. “Folket fra det rå landet” is an atmospheric descent inspired by the poetry of Friedrich Nietzsche (Dionysos-Dithyramben, 1888) and the desolate expanses of the North. Across seven ritualistic movements, the listener is drawn through glacial corridors and shifting voids toward the rise of the black sun. This album is a dark journey rooted in dark ambient and dungeon synth, inspired by the Legend of the Nibelungs — a tale of curse, fate, and inevitable downfall. The soundscapes lead through a world of gods, heroes, and dragons, where greed and destiny intertwine into tragedy. The shadow of J.R.R. Tolkien also looms heavily over this work. His mythology draws deeply from Norse and Germanic sources, and many themes found in The Lord of the Rings echo the Nibelung legend — the cursed ring, the dragon, and the corrupting power of dominion. This album also serves as a distant reflection of my now-closed project Taur-nu-Fuin, which explored the darker realms of The Silmarillion. This is a return to the sources — to raw, unforgiving mythology, where there is no redemption, and the world slowly fades beneath ancient runes. Skogsfolk – Nøkken Dark Ambient / Dungeon Synth In the darkness of the forest and on the calm surfaces of lakes hides the Nøkken – a water spirit that lurks in the shadows of grass and branches. The album guides the listener through swampy paths and mysterious corners of nature, where the boundary between the human world and the world of supernatural beings fades in the twilight. Every sound is an echo of the unseen inhabitants of the forest – quiet, yet constantly reminding of their secret presence.
