Recorded 2017-2019 in North Canton and Uniontown, OH. Happiness is an an album comprised of inspired and emotional compositions and production — a deep, complex sonic journey that amalgamates deep mechanical grooves and dark textures with hints of bright melody. This is a work of catharsis and self-medication; the auditory tapestry of this album was inspired by the junction of childhood trauma, depression, and anxiety about the future. "Atmospheric, post-rock, electronic compositions that take you on dangerous journeys through the rubble of a crumbling world." from Liminal Notes "Do not rush this album, float within its ambience, push through the snarling grey of harsh noise and vibrate to the meditative pulses of its percussive brilliance." from I Heart Noise "The sonic territory is chaotic, unnerving, but brimming with beauty." from The Devil Strip "Incentive has remarkably reassembled universal human emotions into a thought expanding experience; one where the listener can’t help but lift their head to the sky and feel every molecule of air being breathed into their soul." from Bucket List Check out Incentive's new album Inner: https://tri-labs.org/releases/inner/
Mothra, So's second full length album, showing much more variation between tracks. Songs frequently feature loud noisy sampling, many drum samples, percussion and drum lead tracks with minimal melody, and a very wide and interesting range of things sampled, hard to trace back to origins. The album includes varios different sounds and experiments, making each song truly different. The plunderphonics-based metal segment in MY FRIENDS FROM HELL. The entirely made from bass hit samples SHIT. The much more mellow, hip hop-adjacent GIVE IT TO MEH. The trap song CLARK, sampling the C418 track of the same name. The silly and random HUZAH. The almost gabber 1OF4, and the delay bank-made noise segment at the end of the same track. The entire album is truly unique and an interesting listen, fusing power electronics, plunderphonics, and hip hop sounds with the noisy sound that makes Mothra, So ever so unique and captivating.
