The debut solo single from Jamie Lammers took shape in a songwriting workshop hosted by Cari Minor and Ray Smith of Strangebyrds, with the duo advising how to expand on the original chorus idea. This recording came from an hour of free studio time in Ray's home recording studio, Byrd Nest, that every workshop member received for their songs. With Ray's production, engineering, and arrangement, "Now That I've Been Honest" fully embraces a contemporary folk-rock identity, combining the musical tendencies of the composer/performer and the producer/arranger.
