David is one of my favorite poets. He is my introduction to poetry. "Sometimes" is a poem that keeps giving me goosebumps every time and it inspired me to make a goose-bumping drum & bass track. A bit eerie, a bit heavy and nasty, and wonderfully philosophical.

Losing the Plot

A lost soul wanders the hillside in a hypnotic daze. Initially guided by an innate yearning, he soon realizes that he doesn't actually know what he is looking for. As he looks for clues in his surroundings, both the hillside and his body begin to warp. Will he find his way or lose himself to this place?

What an immeasurable joy it is to finally welcome a work by Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt into the haunted halls of ECHØVEIL. Sean is an American performance artist, musician, and free improviser, born in Chicago and now based in Berlin. He is renowned for his astonishingly prolific body of work spanning the vast territories of experimental music in all its forms. He is perhaps best known for developing the Accidental Guitar Method—a practice in which chance, intuition, and improvisation become equal partners in the live composition and recording process. To date, Sean has released more than 700 albums, either solo or in collaboration with fellow sonic explorers, each one presenting entirely original and previously unheard material. It is one of the most fascinating, uncompromising, and constantly evolving artistic journeys I have ever encountered. "Fremder in einer fremden Welt" (A Stranger in a Strange World) unfolds across fifteen mesmerizing minutes somewhere between sound art, ambient noise, musique concrète, spoken word, and field recordings. It is the kind of piece one gladly loses oneself inside—again and again—each return revealing new luminescent subtleties, unfamiliar surreal landscapes, impossible shades of sound, and breathtaking textures that seemed absent only moments before. "of Children and Their Sorceries" sees Black Leather Birds continuing its exploration of immersive, world-building music where spoken word, experimental rock, ambient sound design, and ritual chant coexist. Across five tracks, the EP examines anxiety, memory, home, and the strange significance that ordinary objects can accumulate over a lifetime. Literary in both tone and structure, its songs unfold less as narratives than as inhabited spaces -- places where tension, nostalgia, grief, and acceptance are allowed to linger and intermingle.

Silence Is Contagious

A collection of vocal iterations, audio manipulations, and synth drones with a touch of sardonic sedition, Silence is Contagious refers to how silence is thematic to each song in relation to inaction, authoritarianism, and oppression.

This experimental avant-garde spoken word and sound collage project by Clelia, released through Treefrog Productions on February 13, 2026, presents an English-language exploration of texture, voice, and musical abstraction. Rooted in an experimental mood and style, the album weaves fragmented narration with layered sonic elements, drawing inspiration from the minimalist and conceptual traditions associated with Alvin Lucier and the boundary-pushing aesthetic found in retrospectives from Ninja Tune. The material was first recorded in Fall 2023 under the band name San Beulah, an experimental side project created by Clelia during a period when she did not feel comfortable releasing music under her real name. San Beulah functioned as a creative vessel for risk-taking and sonic experimentation, allowing the work to emerge organically before being consolidated and presented under her primary artist identity. Originating from Virginia, United States, the album stands as a cohesive merging of spoken word performance and musical collage, emphasizing atmosphere, narrative fragmentation, and avant-garde composition pooling from a period in which resources were very limited.
