A brand new massive compendium of Russian Doom Metal Scene. It features both well known artist, and new bands in doom metal. Styles range from traditional doom metal, sludge, stoner to doom death, gothic doom and ambient doom experiments. A diverse long journey for the listener. Sonic dread and melancholic romanticism. This compilation is a time capsule of the doom scene as it is documented in late 2025.

Russian Subterranean Doom Metal

Recently there has been a number of different doom metal compilations representing the post-soviet doom metal scene. Yet our compilation was put together with a different and original concept. The idea was to showcase both post-soviet undergound doom metal, bands that borderline doom as well as to present some heavy doom-metal tracks of non-doom bands. That is why it has not only doom-metal acts but some doomy tracks by the bands from outside the doom scene. We have a number of well established old bands like Crunch, Catharsis and even Vinny Appice (BLACK SABBATH, DIO) has recorded drums in to the song 'When The Devil Comes' by Stonehand (Russia). At the same time our compilation introduces many bands from the extreme underground to the listener. Most of them have an outside-of the box approach to songwriting and production.

This was intended to be a more 'straight forward' metal and rock collection, but, nothing wrong with going in some unexpected directions at times too! 26 bands/projects, 14 countries (England, Czech, Netherlands, Scotland, Switzerland, Spain, Canada, Wales, Chile, Croatia, America, Sweden, Argentina & Germany). Thank you to everyone who contributed to this one. Another one I am really pleased with, especially in that it has variety, but fits together well, and I discovered some new names along the way too, I hope you (in the bands and those finding this as a listener) will do too. LORD CENTIPEDE slithered out of the Ypsilanti / Ann Arbor region more than a decade ago and infected speakers with a kind of degeneracy that is rare to behold. In 2014 the debut album 'Centipede Up Your Ass!' became a local legend -- not just because of the front cover featuring a creature erupting from some guy's guts while he was on the toilet, but because every song was a rampage with more than enough grit and furious off-the-wall riffs to justify that artwork! But after that the centipede just kind of wriggled away. For many years, it was even thought to be dead. Thankfully, those rumors have been put to rest, because in the post-pandemic years Lord Centipede has been spotted annihilating unsuspecting audiences with adrenaline-fueled auditory mayhem!
