Désert Humain

"Désert Humain" that you can translate by Human Desert is usually associated with places where human populations are very small. But I personally see this as a metaphor where the sand of a desert would be literally remplaced by actual human bodies. It shows that our current world lacks so much of humanity that we are just bodies piled on top of one another.
