The Grey Expanse

The Grey Expanse

This is one of my personal favorite pieces from my body of work. It didn’t receive the attention I had hoped for on Bandcamp, as I’m not very well-known there. However, I believe this album deserves more recognition, and I hope you agree. I would be very happy if you chose to follow me and perhaps explore more of my work. By the way, if you are an independent musician and a beginner (or at least not too advanced) on Bandcamp, please take care that I just released the ebook "Bandcamp for Independent Musicians," avaialable on Amazon and on my Bandcamp page, and hopefully soon in other ebook stores. A German edition is available, too (Bandcamp, Amazon, Thalia & more). By the way, I won't add more albums here for a while. I can't activate more YUM codes if I don't pay for them. So get either this album or my album "Sounds from Far Places and other Stories" here. ________ The story: The Grey Expanse tells a journey across a grey, uncertain world suspended between collapse and renewal. Persistent drones, distant textures, fragile signals, and recurring rhythms evoke vast landscapes shaped by decay, vigilance, and the faint possibility of survival. Strange voices emerge from the silence, unseen forces linger beyond the horizon, and the remnants of a lost civilization slowly give way to signs of life. Dark ambient with subtle Berlin School influences, unfolding as a cinematic exploration of tension, isolation, and hope. released June 1, 2026 Recorded and performed in May 2026 using a fully DAWless hardware setup. Sound sources: Behringer Model 15, SOMA Lyra-4, ASM Hydrasynth Explorer, Yamaha MODX M6, Fyearfly Buddha Machine (Tr. 3), Qxiaozhan S11 White Noise Generator (Tr. 5). Processing: Red Panda Particle 2, Eventide Blackhole, Zoom MS-70CDR. Live routing, mixing and stereo recording via Behringer MX400 and Zoom LiveTrak L6.
