Lo-fi, soul rendering dronescapes. Devotional, sorrowful ambient noise; infused with haunting reverb and voices of the past. “For this conceptual release I drew inspiration from the photography of my friend Cooperfrau Melissengeist, the beautiful realm that is the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, and the artworks that lie therein. Secondly, I drew from old conversations and the energy of another friend's extensive body of work: UgUrGkuliktavikt. And lastly, I wanted to delve more deeply and directly into hauntology and plunderphonics.” Cooperfrau Melissengeist: cooperfraumelissengeist.bandcamp.com UgUrGkuliktavikt: ugurgkuliktavikt.bandcamp.com All tracks have been formed from a single sample of a version of Tomás Luis de Victoria’s “Lectio - Taedet animam meam” from his 1605 requiem: Officium Defunctis. Each track also has their own accompanying photograph taken by Cooperfrau Melissengeist in 2024.
