On Andlit á glugga, we're leaning into a close and night-bound kind of introspection... the uneasy clarity of seeing yourself reflected in dark glass while the world outside stays unreachable. The album sits gently in an overlap between interior and exterior where perception feels slightly distorted and emotion becomes part of the texture. This release reunites me with my cousin, Andrés Stenberg, my previous collaborator on Heilun and Listfengi, a guitarist and soundmaker with a strong instinct for shaping space. He doesn’t treat guitar as a “lead” instrument here. It’s atmosphere, pressure, and detail: slow chords that bloom and sag, harmonics that shimmer like cold light, and tones that feel carved into the air rather than played on top of it. His sound design work is an integral part of the sonic architecture of the album. There is constant tension between softness and erosion. Some passages open into warmth and calm; others roughen into grain, shadow, and pressure...
