I believe that music should be a melodic and harmonic rich soundtrack for your life. As a (serious) hobby, I curate an ambient music podcast entitled Spaceman's Transmissions.

As I've meandered across continents in my many travels, my mind always bottles the essence of the landscape around me as a model of how nature moves across Mother Earth, creating a template and backdrop that develops into unique inspiration. Rather than forming alliances with mental snapshots of concrete jungles, I've always been captivated by nature’s grand mosaic. While one would believe that aging depletes the pristine images that Mother Earth has painted within our memories, for me that couldn't be further from the truth. Decades may have passed since I last partook in a European spring, yet the fire-gold fields ignited with ruby poppies remain etched in my mind’s eye. I can still feel the sun’s opulent warmth delivered on the wings of countless butterflies. From my sojourn in Asia, I carry the enduring jade-green memory of mist-shrouded mountains, their peaks blushing with shyness as they dipped into the ephemeral cloud cover. The rolling hills and majestic mountains draped in a thick, verdant blanket of dense forests as the peaks rise like ancient guardians, softened by the summer foliage I’ve amalgamated panoramic galleries from the jagged peaks and rolling valleys that stretch across the sun-baked sierras of the continental US to the icy spires of Alaska that could pierce the sky, each vista an awe-inspiring masterpiece that stole my breath clean away in sheer wonder at how such a divine spectacle could possibly transpire. I long to spark within you the sacred fire of the same awe that consumes me when faced with Mother Nature's unblemished glory. My music on this release is but a whisper of adoration, a testament to beauty we cannot better. These lands? They are a divine inheritance, a gift from the stars. As the music’s colors wash over you, breathe deep and honor Mother Earth all of her splendor. Peace. //tonepoet//

Scenes From The Apocalyptic Bliss

Scenes From The Apocalyptic Bliss

Over the past few years, I had been watching my father's soul begin to evaporate. Over this course of time, I witnessed him becoming a shell of himself; a vessel which yearned to 'go home' (as he would often say towards the end of his voyage, packing his bags and staring out the window). He accurately prophesied his own demise despite our disbelief in his word. My dad never lied, though, and he seemed to know better than anyone how the story would end. Bearing witness to your one of your heroes dissolving and setting sail into an apocalyptic, if not somewhat, blissful horizon is something we often suppress. But, when the grim reaper swings the sickle at those close to us, the cognizance of our very own mortality is suddenly cast into a light with a glow that illuminates brighter over time. If it happened to them, it will happen to us. I often need very good reasons to become musically inspired through positive or negative events. For that reason, I've been letting this music slowly exist and evolve, as that helped to channel my grief. I truly believed that seeing my dad lose his battles over a long duration would make it easier to let go. But it doesn’t work out like that, does it? I am beyond thankful that he let me borrow a few of his final hours to be alone with him. I’m not sure if you could hear me, dad, but I was there, and I got to let you know how much I appreciated you. Sorry that I showed weakness by being so emotional in your last moments. I guess that you could say that I really wasn’t prepared for the outcome. When I listen to this music, which I did for a very long time before acting on it (for years, honestly), I reminisce of my memories with my dad and all the valuable advice given in the form of clever quips which enabled me to make sense of the world around myself. You did well, you fought hard, and it's now time to finally embark on that long walk home. Miss you, dad. Peace. //tonepoet//

Bloom

Bloom

Bloom was created as a vehicle to guide the listener to a calm pasture of serenity. Even when times are tough, the night will dawn and the sun will shine, the stage will reset, and a rebirth of ourselves can begin. This music started out initially as the leftovers sessions from (an upcoming album entitled) Scenes From The Apocalyptic Bliss (yes, I'm releasing them out of order), yet it has blossomed from there into the fruition of a full release. Time to release it into the wild. I had a bit of a rough year last year (and beyond, actually), and while I love to mess around and constantly create music (even though, as evidenced, it takes me a LONG TIME to actually share it with the world), I desired to create some music that would personally belong to only me. This music was supposed to be just some sort of background music that allowed me to drift off and get past whatever was in my way. Well, the music grew every time I had a moment to sit down and mess with it. Eventually, everything started to develop a life of its own. This music here is dedicated to some very major musical heroes that have passed, notably Neil Peart (to whom I dedicate 'Beyond The Limelight [Song For Neil]), and Eddie Van Halen (yes, I grew up a prog rock nerd metalhead and I did indeed have a mullet in the 80's, DON'T JUDGE!! Haha!). Without a doubt this entire album is a tip of the hat to my larger-than-life influence and unbeknownst musical mentor: Vangelis. Vangelis was the second artist (after Tangerine Dream) that got me into music different from my teenage dirtbag musical indulgences. A friend gave me the album Ignacio (he let me borrow it, I told him that I lost it, yet I still have it!) when I was really going through a difficult time in my life. The music really spoke to me and gave me my single source of comfort and hope. I've really tried very hard on every release to make my music something that I wished that Vangelis would hear and say 'well, it's not bad!'. RIP, Maestro.
