Hurricane Otis made landfall in Acapulco on October 25, 2023 at 00:25 hours. It was a category 5 hurricane, the strongest hurricane to ever make landfall on the Mexican Pacific coast. Hurricane Otis left 52 people dead and 32 missing, in addition to more than 200,000 homes affected. It is considered the most devastating natural phenomenon of 2023 in Mexico.
