Nino3.4 index rises to +2.4c, with atmospheric response measurable. Relative Nino3.4 values are forecast to peak at ~ +4c, which would make it the strongest SST anomaly on record. Impacts are expected to persist into autumn 2027 (SH). Warmer waters have been recorded around most of Australia, which will impact cloud formation and may increase the energy available for storms. In the coming months, rainfall is likely to be sparse across the south-east, with increased rainfall in the west. Practice bushfire preparedness. Non-atmospheric impacts lay outside the scope of this study. Recorded newspring 2026 on Kaurna Land ~424 PPM (~427 PPM Mauna Loa).
