The JRH RANDOM MIXTAPE is for the true cassette enthusiast. Inspired by the mixtapes people used to make for each other when cassettes were in their hey-day. The RANDOM part; write to me if you want a different selection of tracks on the cassette. The digital download comes as is but if you want you own random selection email me, contact me in the app etc. and I'll make your own custom mixtape for you. The tapes are dubbed at home on RTM C90 cassettes using a Denon cassette deck from the 90s. Included is also a coaster, plectrum and some cards to hand out to friends. All items are signed on the back. The sounds on this tape were discovered within a lost artifact. Engraved on the object, was an encryption that read: “...in a way, every moment is a repetition of a cycle. The familiar patterns of life: joy, sorrow, routine~give us the sense that we are revisiting old ground, making the present feel like a well-worn memory rather than a brand new experience.”

Archive 020 //: The sounds on this tape were recovered from a series of anomalous broadcasts originating from an unidentified source. Early analysis suggested the transmissions depicted memories of the past and visions of the future of several distant civilizations. Further examination revealed significant consistencies between recordings, leading researchers to decode the fragmented vocal phrases which appear to convey a message of nostalgia, the past, the future and its relation to a single civilization. Researchers now believe the broadcasts describe a phenomenon known as [mirage]: a distortion in which subjects become lost in the mirage of the future or the oasis of nostalgia. The origin of these transmissions remains unknown, though investigators are clear that the original broadcasts were intended to be a message of insight and entertainment rather than pure documentation. //. end
