Dark Music

Death Shapes

Death Shapes is a truly brilliant, thudding, crunching, flickering mechanical beast that really shines amongst the industrialised, dark electronic realm it sits in, due to the wide variety of influences outside the style. It mashes together the heavier, more punishing rhythmical side and subtlely mindwarping dark ambience very fluidly to deliver a complete immersive experience. It has been a pleasure to chat to and work with Mordant Arrow on this; to climb inside the sounds to master it, to make a video for one of the tracks, and to lend ideas for the aesthetic building up to the release of this big album. He had already contributed to Owlripper compilations, as MA and Hathradiah, and I consider myself a fan of his work and ideals. So, I hope if this sounds even remotely like your bag, that you will give 46 minutes of your time to letting this one unfold. Some immensely intensely cool sounds will come your way throughout! ----- "Mordant Arrow is an exercise in Black Acid Industrial Dread based in the Pacific Northwest (US). The project is informed as much by Anarcho Crust Punk, Black Metal, horror movie soundtracks, Acid and Detroit Techno, as it is by classic and contemporary Industrial music." Blent Dimensions

'An eclectic range of experimental and noise influences' "Blent Dimensions is the 9th Gardner+Salnikov album: a collusion of dark abstract polygonal models and industrial‑improv surreal creatures, mapped in musique concrète wireframes and noisecore‑inflected textures. Born from the same mesmerising code as their other entities combined - QUTH, Non‑Bio, Tooth Kink, and Pillars Of Golden Misery." . Gardner+Salnikov self-released many collaborative albums before a 7 year hiatus, until this new recording on LOUDsilence. The Degree and Extent

The Degree and Extent defies expectation at every turn: unsettling soundscapes, hypnotic rhythm patterns, hauntingly sparse melodies. These are otherworldly sonic constructions that pull you out of reality and into uncharted territory.

Nightmare Architechtures In Stasis

My first collaboration with the very talented dark ambient artist, insectarium (aka Joel Hinkle).

Sigma Entity

In May of 2051 a group of enthusiastic cave explorers went on an expedition to map out a previously uncharted deep water cave system below the Yucatán Peninsula. But the three friends soon found themselves in over their heads and nobody would ever hear their screams from below.

Songs of Disquiet

'Songs of Disquiet' was inspired by the writing of Fernando Pessoa, specifically the Book of Disquiet, a collection of journals from the years 1913-1934, which was published posthumously and translated from Portuguese to English. “There is no fire in your hearth, she said. So, why have a hearth? There is no bread on your table, she said. So why have a table? You have no companion, she said. So why cling to life?” . 'Cold Hearth' includes reading from the passage 'Funeral March for King Ludwig II of Bavaria' and was created with vocals, samples, guitar, analog synthesizer and drum machine. 'Virgin Mother of the Absurd World' was recorded in one take with accordion, guitar feedback and analog synth. . His Black Orbit Never Ends

His Black Orbit Never Ends is not a lullaby for the cosmos — it's a scream. A scream against those who profit from death. With this album, I tried to break away from everything ambient is usually expected to be. It’s not just atmospheric music — it’s a fierce act of protest against warlords, corrupt politicians, and the dark forces treating human lives like their personal ATM. I didn’t “compose” these eight tracks — I literally vomited them after months of nightmares, insomnia, and sleepless nights haunted by the reality of war. Sonically, the album is built on microtonal structures and a sound design approach that’s not meant to comfort, but to disturb. This is music for those who refuse to close their eyes.

MACHINE WARRIOR

CYBER CRASH 2000 (1987) Despite a limited run at the time of release, Pak Nam-Gyu’s 1987 tech-noir classic CYBER CRASH 2000 has gained a small cult following among 20th century completionists. Equally praised for its ominous predictions and panned for its overuse of cyberpunk clichés, the film dealt with complex themes for its time including body modifications and transhumanism. The film soundtrack, credited to unknown producer Lee Hae-Dong, garners similar criticism, being both a schlocky analog product of its time and a tense atmospheric peek into the future. Restored from the original master tapes, the soundtrack is available here in full for the first time. --- Synopsis: The year is 1999, 5 years since the metanet crash and the uprisings that followed. Pockets of civilization still exist in the wreckage of the mega cities and the off world colonies, collecting and hoarding data that could lead to a new awakening of humanity. However, ruthless “sequencer agents” prowl the soft space and the intranet, viciously hunting down netrunners. Only the upgraded stand a chance against the Syndicate. The perfect synthesis of man and machine. This is the age of the Machine Warrior.
