Plaksoi EP [MEUK024]

It is with great pleasure that we present the Plaksoi EP by none other than Denn Punk — the biggest mess-maker on our label. This time, he treats us not to four, but to five ultimate groove tracks — and there’s a special reason for that; read on to find out why. The EP opens with the track "Beninging”, a true intro that sets the tone. With "Groefmeester," he has surpassed himself in terms of depth. The looping vocal track "Plaksoi" offers endless possibilities, while "Klinkklaar" resonates most deeply with him personally — a direction we will undoubtedly hear more of in the future. The Plaksoi EP closes off with the "one-fits-all" groove "Don't Stop", which lends itself to countless variation — making it the perfect choice to mark the 100th release on our label. Yay! Unseen Coordinates (DELUXE EDITION)

17 track DELUXE EDITION new release. Navigations without a map — moving through spaces you can feel but can't name. Long-form drones stretch and erode like tides against unmarked shorelines; shorter pieces surface as techno skeletons wrapped in ambient fog, where pulse and texture trade places. Cold on the surface, warm underneath. Precise in its construction, deliberately unresolved in its arrival. Music for the hours between destinations. The coordinates are unseen — the direction is yours.

Terminal

Something falls. It doesn't stay whole. Terminal is the next chapter in cstl and ITEM's collaboration. Five tracks that pick up where Splinters left things: fragmented, restrained, waiting. This time the pieces don't settle. They fall, scatter, line up under force, and build until there's nowhere left to go but max speed. From start to end, hypnotic techno that never lets the tension resolve, until the last track gives into it. "Splinters was about the moment something breaks. Terminal is what happens after, the pieces don't stay still. This EP represents that motion, all the way to the end."

Death Shapes

Death Shapes is a truly brilliant, thudding, crunching, flickering mechanical beast that really shines amongst the industrialised, dark electronic realm it sits in, due to the wide variety of influences outside the style. It mashes together the heavier, more punishing rhythmical side and subtlely mindwarping dark ambience very fluidly to deliver a complete immersive experience. It has been a pleasure to chat to and work with Mordant Arrow on this; to climb inside the sounds to master it, to make a video for one of the tracks, and to lend ideas for the aesthetic building up to the release of this big album. He had already contributed to Owlripper compilations, as MA and Hathradiah, and I consider myself a fan of his work and ideals. So, I hope if this sounds even remotely like your bag, that you will give 46 minutes of your time to letting this one unfold. Some immensely intensely cool sounds will come your way throughout! ----- "Mordant Arrow is an exercise in Black Acid Industrial Dread based in the Pacific Northwest (US). The project is informed as much by Anarcho Crust Punk, Black Metal, horror movie soundtracks, Acid and Detroit Techno, as it is by classic and contemporary Industrial music."
